Focused on logistics and eCommerce solutions at Kuehne+Nagel, created and implemented an order management system that drove compliance up 25%; architected and deployed a disaster recovery solution guaranteeing a 99.99% uptime; redesigned and architected a secure network that increased freight quote response performance by 212%; and deployed company's first fully redundant colocation which includes a 5-minute disaster recovery RTO policy and guaranteed uptime, geographical route optimization with optimal load balancing.

At ReTrans Freight, designed, coded, and deployed an app that generated $1.5M in FY'17 and is on track to exceed $20M in FY'20; increased performance of freight auditing software by 475%; and solely designed, developed, and deployed first Apple iOS freight shipment app.

Personal Summary

First and foremost, husband to a wondeful wife and a proud dad of a little girl.

I consider myself to be the subject matter expert for every role I've held so far in my professional career. I've never backed down from a challenge.

My life motto is "I don't have problems, I just have more work to do!" or the shortened version "No problems, just work!"

I competed in powerlifting for over six years and held many world records during my time. I competed in the 165lb weight class and had a bench press of 405lbs, squatted over 600lbs, and deadlifted over 550lbs.

I've also worked with my hands for many years, which includes electrical, plumbing, installing tile floor, and as a family mechanic.

Kuehne + Nagel is the number 1 sea freight forwarder in the world, with 80,000 employees worldwide with a customer base of 400,000. The division of Kuehne + Nagel that I work for is LTL and eCommerce. We specialize in bringing the technology to the table to allow for eCommerce websites to efficiently and correctly quote heavy products in a shopping cart environment and to streamline order management systems.

My responsibilities include;

• Implemented, created and tested disaster recovery and business continuity plans and maintained an appropriate back-up system.
• Established, tracked and controlled information technology operating budgets and cost and benefit analyses for IT spending initiatives.
• Identified opportunities for application optimization, redesign and development and troubleshot and resolved user and application issues.
• Analyzed department and job-related functionality requirements to align technology priorities with business needs.
• Developed and implemented technical application support and information technology policies and procedures that advanced investment needs, outcomes and performance measurements to balance continuous innovation with responsible risk-taking.

ReTrans Freight was purchased by Kuehne + Nagel in the spring of 2018.

ReTrans Freight is a 3rd party logistics company that specializes in less than truckload (LTL). Some of their services included consolidated freight payment and eCommerce shopping cart integration tools.

Continued previous software development duties but now also in charge of Re-Trans Freight network & managing the helpdesk staff

My responsibilities included securing and connecting private networks at multiple sites across interstate corporate WANs, deploying and configuring remote access for staff, switches, load balancers, link balancers, and firewalls. I also managed the full server stack, which included SQL databases, VMware, domain controllers, active directory, and group policy. Lastly, I continued performing job functions as a .Net software developer.

Newgistics Freight Services was purchased by ReTrans in 2013. ReTrans is an Intermodal focused shipping company based in Tennesse, and they rebranded Newgistics Freight Services to ReTrans Freight.

Newgistics Freight Services is a 3rd party logistics company who specializes in less than truckload (LTL). Some of their services included consolidated freight payment and eCommerce shopping cart integration tools.

Even though I was promoted and had a new title, I still supported the helpdesk as a Level 2 helpdesk technician. At this point, I also started to mentor and taught the new helpdesk team about their new responsibilities.

My responsibilities included creating and altering desktop applications, webforms, APIs, and database query optimization. I quickly mastered the languages of C# and VB.NET.

Working for a small company was exactly what I needed to learn each and every skill I needed to grow.

American Doctors Online - Internship

American Doctors Online was the first-to-market telemedicine company that focused on bringing telemedicine to nursing homes. The problem they wanted to solve was to avoid hospital transfers, which is costly to nursing homes and patients. They deployed computers on carts with high-definition web cameras, which allowed doctors to examine and determine if a patient needed to transfer to a hospital.

This was my first job on the career path I wanted, and truthfully, it was a little scary. Nevertheless, I was up for the challenge.

Working at American Doctors Online brought to light that I needed to grow professionally, and quickly, or I was going to drown. I was the only I.T person on staff, supporting nurses, doctors, and multiple nursing home facilities, which meant I needed to self-teach myself a lot of new things. Those new things included managing a Microsoft Exchange server, firewalls, switches, and routers that provided internet access for secure web conferences for doctors and patients, and general office equipment management.
